Very powerful effect, but that's fine on a 6-mana gold rare. 2/2 is pretty small for a 6-mana creature; I'd expect it to be a bit bigger. (You don't want to take the mana cost down much with an ability this strong though.)

Although you might want to lose the "tapped" from the ability. It depends whether you want to prevent shenanigans or embrace them.

I like shenanigans, but not too much. What if I make it a 1/4, so that it's not offensive but resistant to burn? Also, if I remove the "tapped" restriction, I feel like it should occur at sorcery speed, in order to prevent combat tricks (which aren't very blue/black).

I have two options for the member of the rare gold cycle, this and Adherents of the Repeating Meme. Reanimation fits nicely, especially since I'm a bit low in the set, but this doesn't seem particularly splashy.
