Hm. May be better as an enchantment? But the minor restriction/benefit of tapped is a nice twist.

It originally regenerated the creature, but then I realized that regeneration at sorcery speed was useless (and stealing at instant speed was too powerful). How would I make it an Aura? If it said "enchant tapped creature" it would fall off during my untap step.

Dream Leash is how you'd do it.

But the oracle text of Dream Leash sucks:

Enchant permanent You can't choose an untapped permanent as Dream Leash's target as you cast Dream Leash. You control enchanted permanent.

Hm, yeah, ick. Enchant target permenant that's tapped when you play this???

I think it will just be best as a sorcery. Being an enchantment doesn't really change it that much, I think.

Eww. I hadn't spotted that piece of errata; I'm surprised it was necessary. In which case I guess the sorcery version is probably best.

I changed my mind as well, given Gather specimens and given that you'll be able to see the creature's on your side of the battlefield, the memory issues probably don't matter. I vote sorcery.
