This goes infinite with itself. You need to use a wording that's a replacement effect to avoid the ability looping:

"If an artifact would enter the battlefield under your control, instead it does, then createa token that is a copy of that artifact."

When you create an artifact token this triggers all triggered abilities with the condition "Whenever an artifact enters the battlefield" including this one.

As a result you will create a token that's a copy of that artifact and this again triggers the ability.
