The main villain of the set. Since he's intended to be a necromancer and deals with demons a lot, I wanted to give him something demon-like (sacrificing creatures for power) and something necromancer-like (Eternal Witnessing something). I'm writing off the +1/+1 counter flavor as part of his shtick of replacing his organs with organs of younger people for longer life as well.
I expect this to go through many tweaks before it's actually ready to go. My initial design had him at

with three +1/+1 counters and sacrifice two creatures for one +1/+1 counter, but I feel like this is a little easier to understand. The
on the Sacrifice ability is mostly for power level concerns, but I feel like he's on the weaker side right now.
Pretty good as a goodstuff commander though. You can build him pretty much however you want.
Removed
cost from 2nd ability.
This could easily omit
from its cost IMO, but whatever.
New design. Now a little weird in that it combines Havengul Lich's ability inheritance and casting a spell for free. Reminder text is there to remind players that
and Sacrifice ~ are costs.
Not sure I got the wording for this correct... Ideally you should only be able to cast a copy of an instant or sorcery spell.
Mm, right now I think it lets you recast creatures. I don't see a problem with that though - just trinket text that he adds 'demon' subtype to anything he casts :)
It's a really interesting card this. First, read the entrails. Then, summon up something. Really flavourful.
Just checked, copies cease to exist if they're anywhere but the stack, so you won't be able to copy a permanent card this way.
New wording to make it work. Not super psyched about the wording change because it reads clunkier, but hopefully should provide interesting plays.
Now less pure card advantage and more "how can I break this". Best use scenario now is using it as a one-shot Monstrous (like Megaton Ogre) or using it as a protection spell like Honored Concubine or (((Foilage Dasher))). Not the best compromise from the original wording, but I'll take it over the clunkiness of v.2.0 (technically 3.0).
