Does having them be hounds add anything? It would be more aesthetic without it.

Red Triplicate Spirits with haste instead of convoke sounds dangerous for a common.
What about 2 tokens but combine with another effect to justify the 5-6cmc?

Not very science-y either way. I'm happy leaving the flying to blue and give red reach and removal.
