See Grue. With power over shadow, it's a bit odd that Grue isn't {b}, but his abilities and personality (at least where I am in the story) certainly aren't.

Mmm, our Grue also ended up white, after a little colour pie discussion of whether a shadow-themed power set could be nonblack. The character does like to intimidate people (hence choosing the name for the reason jmg refers to) but his personality is very much about protecting his group.
