Hmm. I think this is rather underpriced. It's rather better than "{t}: ~ deals 2 damage to target creature", and that costs more than 4 mana (Hatchet Bully and Tar Pitcher require extra resources to do it).

As worded, this will cause the hex ability targeting the creature to fizzle, since the triggered ability will resolve first and make the hex target invalid.

What about "Whenever a creature an opponent controls becomes hexed, put an additional -1/-1 counter on it"? Then it triggers off the hex ability resolving.

You could base the wording on Hardened Scales, but for -1/-1 counters and obviously not limited to creatures you control.

Cross-set synergy - I love it.
