That's impressively succinct reminder text. I think it works - it conveys everything you need to know. (Perhaps except whether you can re-enter bidding after you've passed, but it'd be fairly implausible circumstances where that would happen anyway.)
This is kinda weak in two player - as a minimum; but I guess the multiplayer potential is why it's here. Nice idea.
Equal or lower though.. If I'm on the play, I can cast this turn 1 and take his land. This is too cheap at its current incarnation, I think.
Yowch. Yes, Coercion needs to be 3 mana. The -> transform, Distress, says "nonland".
This might be more elegant if you just say "nonland". But it does then have the problem that on turn 2 it's more efficient than Thoughtseize. ...I say "problem"; maybe Wizards would just go "Great! Just make sure it's rare."
This is pretty crazy if you go first in a multiplayer game. It lets you steal from everyone's hands. What if Bidding was done with life instead of mana?
Personally, I don't like bidding on life as opposed to mana. Mostly because this is a keyword, which infers that a lot of spells will have it. It's just too Spike that way to end up on 10 cards... and only good if you're winning with an aggressive deck.
But, yeah, Rhystic Thoughtseize doesn't seem that crazy to me. Thoughtseizing every player does sound kind of crazy, though. Could this card say "Choose an opponent that you beat or tied a bid with. That player..." Still good in multiplayer, since no one knows who's going to be hit.
This is still unstoppable Coercion on turn 2, so it needs to say "nonland".
