Turned out that the image that jmgariepy had used when creating Challenge # 074 (a Jolly Roger) was hosted off some random site on the internet which went down then got took over by evil people. It's very unlikely that visiting Multiverse actually infected anyone with anything, because it was just trying to access a jpg file from that site, and from the src attribute of an img tag, so unless there are any more vulnerabilities in JPEG parsing you should all be unaffected.
I edited Challenge # 074 from the database interface to remove the image.
All the more reason to host my own images...
Aye. I'd generally recommend people don't just embed the art URL of a source image from somewhere random on the internet, but instead upload it to a server you control or a reliable image repository like imgur.
