I really wish Wizards would get on with it and print some myre commanders like Thelon of Havenwood with optional colours for their decks like this.

You could make two entirely different decks with this. I mean, of course you could make way more than that, but you could make an Abzan enchantment deck or a Grixis control deck. Anolos, Therian of Buds plays in a similar space, but I feel like it wants all five colors more than this does.

You've made plenty more legends than just these two with activated abilities in off-colours :) And I've dabbled in it as well: Jor Kadeen's Emissary allows his deck to be Boros, Mardu, Naya or Dune-Brood.
