Should this be "if you do"?

I don't think it particularly needs to be. If Johnny wants to play this and Dream Thrush and no other mountains to get a 2-point ping each upkeep, I think I'm inclined to let him.

If I use one of your "Make this something other than a land" cards, does it stop being a mountain?

Depends on the card. Nonsensical subtypes will cease to exist, so it'll still be a Mountain iff the other card says "in addition to its other types".

Seems like a good way to stop having to pay the upkeep but still get the effect (and then you're in 'lose if you forget' territory) But as Alex says, it's just a 2pt poke, nothing massively huge for a 2card combo.

Annnd the current wording seems more suited to "Zombies are blue" than an every-turn thing.

I like the way it naturally takes itself out in the end. Using "If you do" will fix the loophole, but makes the card read a bit worse. If you choose not to use that, then the card will read better if you combine the two sentences into one, particularly with "then" as the joiner.

The wording is a bit fiddly: "then" would suggest to some players that you don't get the damage if you sac this itself. Trying it with the sentences the other way round.

I think its safe that you could probably take then off, many things sacrifice for damage this days, but its really up to you as it is only one word and doesnt really mess with the rules, the "then you" however is not needed, you can only sacrifice your stuff so that is a word too much, it works well with "then sacrifice a mountain". On the card, I can see this dealing 8-10 damage really easily, but as it eats away your resources maybe thats ok. I would be really happy to open this in a booster.
