I'll definitely try to fix the formatting of double hyphens. Ought to be a straightforward switch of the order I call two functions in.
I'm not sure I quite understand the UI suggestion. Which text are you saying is misleading, and what would you like it to say?
If you look at the Suvnica mechanics page you see several mechanics with asterisks and hyphens in their name. Looking at that, you would have no reason to believe those would be substituted with italics or m-dashes on card, although they are.
Mind you, it would be simplest to just have a "ability word" checkbox that adds the formatting automatically.
