Looks scarily cheap, since one natural comparison is Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer; but given Dungrove Elder I guess this is probably fine.
Heck, I'd compare it to Nightmare. Ok, that flies where this doesn't - but still.
Swings for 3 on turn 3? Seems considerably better than Blood Knight, I'll say that.
he cost for this seems to have fluctuated a lot over the years. Originally, most examples seemed to cost 6-8. But recent examples have often cost 3 or 4 (with slightly different abilities).
Possibly because lots of tournament-competitive decks don't play a monocolour deck with all basic lands, so wizards feel they can push it harder without unbalancing everything?
But I think 2 mana is probably still too cheap :)
This is a tricky wicket... not a lot of tournament decks are mono-green, but a lot of tournament decks have been mono-red. I think we've seen Dungrove Elder get pushed because of this. I'm not sure how often Wizards would bother making a card that rewards commitment to red, though.
That's not to say they wouldn't. The card seems too good to me, but I'm comfortable saying "I could be wrong, and this card is fine." I just think it's dangerous to compare this to the Elder. The two cards seem to exist in two different worlds.
The thing is, no matter what this costs it will always be on curve. If it cost

, at least it would be so aggressive. I was thinking that it could be weakened a bit by counting basic mountains, but that wouldn't help with mono-red decks, where this already shines. If it had mountainwalk, it would be good sideboard tech against other mono-red decks.
