up cost to
make semi-hybrid
I like the effect a lot, but I think it's way too good for common. Keep the ETB versions like ((C24731)) in common, but make the repeatable permanent battlefield-affecting effects at uncommon, I think.
The cost is fun and interesting.
That's a good point. Part of my problem is that I really need/want lifelink counters at common (I want each color to be associated with one type pf ability counter at common), and as it happen, this is currently the only card that does it.
Now Afterlife, put a counter
Effect was moved over to ((C24919)).

ARGH
4/4 too much for white common. now a value Pillarfield Ox
Heh, it's Wormfang Crab! (With Wormfang Turtle's stats.)
I wasn't aware that this ability had been used before (here it's a gating variant that plays into Afterlife).
It does play very nicely with Afterlife. And the Wormfang comparisons show that the costs are spot on.
The only thing is, at the moment it infinite-loops when it's your only creature. That needs fixing somehow. "When ~ ETBs, sacrifice it unless you exile another target creature you control until ~ LTBs"? That's rather more confusing than the current wording...
Maybe it's okay to get a discount on Pillarfield Ox if it's your only creature? If so, you can just add "another" to the current wording and be done with it.
Well-spotted. As I see it, I can either make it 3w (I misremembered the ox's cost) and follow your suggestion, or make it an additional cost here.
As I have only one CMC4 white common (a 3/3 semihybrid) but more CMC3 than I need, I,ll go for the first.
Not targetting any longer. It's intended to act as kind of an additional cost and those don't target.
