Why not put the card into your graveyard? Then this can at least give you {1} for your next delve spell if you don't like what you see.

It was kinda intended to interact with "exile matter" and afterlife cards in a Steady Progress kind of way, y'know. It delves away your afterlife boys, and act as a bit of a scryer.

I think having Delve alone interacts well with an "exile matters" theme, and doing as dude1818 suggests would let this interact more with other delve cards.
