A 4/1 for 4, a 5/2 for 5, a 6/3 for 6 etc are all fine red P/T combinations. But perhaps the flexibility of getting any of them means I should change "X+1" to just X.

That loses the absolutely wonderful X+1+1+1 rythm though.

Still, compare it to primal clay - which gives a vanilla 3/3 for 4 or a bit of flexibility. Perhaps require all of the x to be red?

As commented in our game, if you do make it just X, I think you need to start at 0/-2; otherwise the card's dead until 5 mana.

The combination of "X+1" with "0/-3" is a bit too much complication for one card. The whole thing comes across as a poor way to say something like X/1, where X must be at least 4. That at least brings it a bit closer to Weave the Strands. Alternatively, could it re-use the Ritual of Accusation tokens, possibly as XRRR?
