This is weird. I'm so used to draft signpost uncommons that an artifact hoser that can be used both aggressively and defensively is quite unexpected.

Do some signpost uncommons intentionally push people away from drafting specific color combinations? I've felt that way on occasion when seeing those cards while drafting.

Rather than push a playstyle here, I wanted to punish, or at least have a reaction available, to another playstyle that might appear in draft: ramping via Calcify.

I knew I wanted this card to be cheaply costed, at just its colors specifically. I was originally going to make it a 2/2, but decided a 3/1 might be more fun.
