Spell or ability > anything

This hard locks 60% of the colors out of the game

Agree. This is stupidly good control against so many things.

However, a simple Naturalize does remove it. But, if you don't have enchant removal (say like {b}{r} decks can't get) then you're fricked.

The idea of {w} doing this against a {b}{r} deck makes my magic-card-flavor buds tingle, because it would be so perfect to be like: "Oh you're attacking me with five giant flying demons from the Abyss after summoning lightning on me three times this turn?!" then, "I tried to play nice before, but take this! Peace Invictus!"

That wasn't meant to be contradictory to what I said before, just a little day dream I had.

The closest thing I've made to this is a card a while ago called Restless Spirit. In a format without good removal that's super busted.

I wouldn't call this 'janky' either, since there's easier ways to get an enchantment in play then paying 7 mana. Also, this doesn't require effort or ingenuity to have it work. It just hard locks.

Didn't mean to sound harsh. If i did, sorry.

Froogychum Thats all fair criticism.

If I bumped up the mana cost to eight or nine would that be more fair? Ideally the RB deck kills you before this is out at that point. As for easy ways to put enchantments into play, I would consider that a bigger issue than any individual battle cruiser card.

'As for easy ways to put enchantments into play, I would consider that a bigger issue than any individual battle cruiser card.'

You're absolutely right, but Wizards has seemingly decided to leave lots of cards like this in most formats, so it's fair to assume their intended to be part of the game, at least sometimes.

And yeah, a {b}{r} deck should certainly be able to kill you before turn 7, I agree.

Giving this another payment would probably solve the issue of it being easy to 'cheat out'... I don't know any good mechanics for that, since Cumulative Upkeep, Echo and the like aren't exactly beloved by players (to my knowledge), but something would be good...

Hmm, maybe just adding a line that says, "When ~ ETBs, if you didn't cast it, sacrifice it"? That prevents it from being 'put into play', but does allow you to cast it from other zones (which is OK, i think. If it's been Naturalize'd once, your opponent is perhaps running a second copy. Also, casting from graveyards is used sparsely and normally in {b}, so it's not something to worry about being easy to abuse with this card)

I do like this card, by the way. It's a very clean concept (if that makes sense?), but it should probably have a casting requirement; or rather, a requirement that you actually cast it

I appreciate the feedback. Love the thought you put into your comments as it is very helpful Froggychum

Thanks :)
