I chose (((Stormscape Battlestone))) and Random Generator gave me Nevinyrral's Disk and Wind Spirit. Wind Spirit wasn't spicy enough, since Teleport appeared in the same group, so I gave it a little twist. Nevinyrral's Disk was also inappropriate as is, because this is supposed to be an uncommon cycle. This seems like a good compromise... Board wiping at uncommon doesn't happen very often, but this card looks a bit like it's hunting the commons...
I guess if you generate two cards for each of these, you're going to be pushed to find coherent concept or neat parallelism. That's how I think I'd most like to see this cycle: with tightly mirrored or related abilities. But that's not going to be possible from this approach. Given which, this is interesting on its own merits: the red ability is interesting enough on its own, even without the awesome kill-small-things ability added on.
To be fair Stormscape Battlemage and it's ilk was a bit random. Still, I'd like these cards to be a bit more closely linked, so I might try again soon. Next pass, I'll only take one card and see if I can rip it into two effects. Some cards, that's pretty simple. It's much more difficult to do for Grizzly Bears... but oddly doable.
Accidently blew up lands. Fixed.
I'm simplifying the battlestones by doing something that should have been done a while ago... combining the two abilities together into one large ability when you sacrifice the stone. This buster is the only card that doesn't make much sense with that thought process, though, so I'm shipping it back and making a new battlestone. Maybe it can appear as a weird one-of in a Mashup: Revised. I still do like that first ability. I should use it someday.
