Yes, though the decision has nothing to do with flavor. Assuming one isn't playing against burn, it's not hard to neither deal nor receive damage during one's own turn. I think in my first test, armistice could trigger every turn, but thought it'd be too easy to do on one's own turn. The simplest solution seemed to be just ignore one's own turn.
