changing size to a 2/3
changed token type
Executive decision here. Change the tokens to Clerics. Specifying humans isn't necessary or productive.
Feel free to make an individual design with a modular like effect. However modular the mechanic isn't returning for the first playtest.
removed from set skeleton
I thought I removed this card several times... We are not having Gain 3 or more life triggers in the initial playtest.
added rarity
Since I just suggested it, that would be me suggesting it as a returning mechanic. < .
Since modular is not evergreen and not a returning mechanic, it cannot be present in the set.
Why can't the 1/1 human tokens and the 1/1 cleric tokens all become 1/1 human cleric tokens. This would reduce unnecessary extra tokens and make the token makers more streamlined.
Removing bonus card code.
Don't like the wording. You "have faith" in the definition of faith, but you "instill faith" at the end. Didn't realize this was a new mechanic, but alright. Here we are.
The card itself is "fine" but I am not sure what I feel about it.
I mean, it could be "enters or leaves the battlefield" but I don't think we want that nightmare of a Thragtusking going down.
It appears on other cards in the deck - this is just the only creature (and hence uses "dies" in place of the wording the noncreatures use).
was: Human creature tokens; is: Cleric creature tokens
Contested by Hunt the Heretic
Contesting Ritual Combat.
The 1/1 Human tokens should also become 1/1 Cleric tokens btw - no reason to have them flying around when the flavor of the card is more focussed on Cleric anyway.
I'm going to hunt that card down now. :)
non sequitur?
Disagree to all points.
1) This is one of two dual typed creature tokens. The other Release the Hounds makes a Hound Construct. However this card has been contended many times because and is subject to change. (Like all cards on the file)
Ignoring the dogs, we currently have the following tokens: 4/4 Flying Angel, 1/1 Cleric, 1/1 Human, X/X Elemental, 1/1 Flying Thopter, 1/1 Myr
Having a one off Human Cleric breaks a lot of the existing patterns for token making. I don't think a common warrants making a whole new token that is already on file. The other cards instances want to be humans anyways.
2) As a above, we already have a 1/1 white Cleric creature on three different cards of the file. Sanctimonious Army (((Followers of the Faith))) Arch Cathedral. There is currently no advantage to making two different Cleric tokens (nor two different Human tokens for that matter)
3) This isn't a human tribal deck. It is an Angel tribal deck. There has never been a "Human matters" card on file.
4) This is a token made on a common. What makes this different than a soldier token? What makes this different than a Cleric token for that matter?
While we are on the topic of tokens, I am not sure if we should have two different 1/1 white Creature tokens on file. I think Cleric is probably the desired one at the moment.
A human cleric token works just as well in a cleric tribal deck while also working in human tribal. There's no time where a cleric token can't be human. These aren't soldier tokens. It looks more aesthetically pleasing if the token matches the card exactly.
...since when?
Soldier Tokens have always been just that. Soldier tokens. Not Human Soldiers. The more important part about this token is the Cleric part not the human part.
The game play benefits is that we can then include this card in not humanocentric sets. It also allows us to encourage more Cleric tribal in the future without specific ties to humans.
Making the creature types uneven will ruin the aesthetics of the card without any game play benefit.
Other argument in favor of this existing in the deck is that with the current skeleton, most if not all cards will be 1-ofs in the deck. Having a slight redundancy at the 1 drop slot seems fine.
An alternative might be a 1-mana trick.
It wouldn't actually backfire. You can always just untap this even if it's already untapped. It's a bit counterintuitive, so the template change is a good idea.
added "you may" to the Twiddle effects as they should have
If we keep the twiddling, the text should be altered to include "you may" to keep this from back-firing. In fact...
Name was "Mirran Scrapmelder". This seems more in line to me.
I don't feel the need to ability word this. It is a fairly unique ability on one rare. It synergizes well with Tinker, but I don't think it warrants it's own word.
Fair point. The thought was that the deck needed something to do with one mana. This card interacts well with the tricks on two.
I think this just wants to be a Doomed Traveler variant.
... Like Honored Missionary
This spot can easily be contested.
