Recent updates to Faith vs Science DD challenge: (Generated at 2025-05-01 04:17:45)
With the recent comments on the Magnetic Dragon from the podcast, I will again argue for this card to get into the file. I think it still plays well with the themes and can be a really strong card.
Still contesting Reconbobulator (Unless we open a second RA slot)
Triggering once on such a rare event that also happens mostly at sorcery speed (does this deck have a flash Angel?) seems quite pointless.
Suggestion: "~ gets +1/+1 as long as you control an Angel."
What's the Tombstalker problem?
The exact text of faith is clearly not set in stone (e. g. it should not imply a triggered ability in its reminder text).
That the card with pray has a "when you pray" trigger.
Keyword abilities do not need to be capitalized mid sentence.
Best comparable to Cleaver Riot
Not sure if this is the proper implementation, but I support the thought.
Avoid the Tombstalker problem if you can!
Contested by Spare Golem.
Contesting Cogwork Sorcerer.
If the new card has nothing in common with the original, shouldn't you actually create a new card rather than overwrite the original? We have lost a lot of designs that we might have come back to later during playtests due to this practice.
Also this is in the enchantment slot. And there are other cards refering to this card.
What's the convention?
I think it would make more sense as a bigger body that can draw two cards.
, 3/3, Tinker, When ~ tinkers, draw 2?
Then again with colored artifacts this feels very blue. It also is a cheap tinkerer, so what are the cheapest artifacts that we have that want to get tinkered?
Playtest will tell more.
Breaking through board stalls and allowing you to alpha strike.
It just has cycling. That's kind of a cute design, but not good enough to be playable (outside of artifact tokens).
No, but there's an easier way to do it on the website. I agree with what you're saying; Doombringer just did it the hard way.
The name can affect the experience while playing. It's not necessary to change the name in many cases, but it's often helpful when you're trying to create a specific thematic feel. Doombringer decided to do it, and it'll make our testing a bit easier.
An extreme example is Devotion vs. Chroma. WOTC has credited the new thematic name with one of the reasons for the more positive playtest responses.
changed from unworkable angel card to conditional Exile
this card doesn't follow the correct conventions for Pray
what is this card doing?
changed to faith wording
storage lands are not common this needs to change.
changed to tinker
this card makes no sense to me
changed to tinker
changed to faith
Doombringer, are you aware that you can change a keywords name independently of its playtest name? Going through all the cards for renaming re-engineer to tinker was not strictly necessary.
Obsoletes Phantom Warrior now - other options:
U, 1/1, tinkers for a +1/+1 counter 1U, 1/1, tinkers for two +1/+1 counters 3U, 2/2, tinkers for a +1/+1 counter
arranged abilities in an order that makes it harder to mis-read; nonfunctional change
corrected mana symbols
I feel 4/4 (sometimes 7/7) seems quite large for a Bear when the Elephants are 2/3 and 3/3. In the final version we should switch it around to make Lonak smaller than Loxodon.
