I think Pray is supposed to be standardized at 7 mana for the first round of submissions.
As I mentioned on Devout Invoker, I think this feels odd. The God or His messenger should be a reward for Praying. To whom do angels pray?
Odd that this doesn't have Pray.
Changed creature type to Cleric over Monk.
I think the flavor fail is part of the reason the mythic loses that contest. The Mythic should be the exultation of the Faith, what the masses are praying for. I think the Mythic should be some Akroma/Archangel of Thune type card. Something that rewards the faithful.
The other aspect that's difficult to balance is that the pray cost is always the same across all the cards. So whichever card ends up with the "Make an angel" text will cost the same to activate as the other potential cards with that ability. I think it's more prudent to make that the focus of the card than an addendum to a 5 mana 4/4 flier with first strike.
I was going to comment that this seemed weak, but then realized that no, Wurmcoil Engine is just way too good. Carry on.
You mean Foundry of the Consuls? I agree.
The thing I expected was actually some kind of Seraph Sanctuary rather than a slightly sideways Ancient Ziggurat.
Maybe this deck needs a ramp land or storage land to help pay for pray costs rather than tribal support?
This should be a rare, considering almost every other clone effect being at rare.
Also, turning this into a discarded Spine of Ish Sah seems fun T_T
Shouldn't it be "Worshipper?"
spelling
Reprints are not allowed
The real issue is reprints are not allowed. Also, looking at other red commons, there is already a card that is in the same exact vein.
This is supposed to be MAD science. Frantically searching for answers seems like a mad scientist thing to do.
I see what you did there.
While flavorful against the faith deck and practical for this deck, "looting" isn't a very scientific thing. This is "faith vs science", not "faith vs lack of faith"
Sure, if Wizards ever actually make Assemble as a mechanic, I'd be concerned. Until then, it's not a big deal.
I think the name Assemble is off-limits due to our friend Steamflogger Boss.
