So, MaRo hates hornet sting. The question remains, direct damage (apart from specific well-known exceptions) is red. And only red. But are all the other colours equally bad at it, or are some more bad at it than others? Does hornet sting mean green is in the middle? Or is at the bottom?
Oh well. I shouldn't do this card, but I liked the flavour.
Can you do ninjas in blue? Yes, yes you can.
In blue too many cards have cerebral interpretations rather than being about actual superheroes. But some of them are still funny.
I'm bored of thinking of new tweaks on "draw N cards", as I never want to repeat, but there still always seem to be some left.
Not sure if this will find a home or not. Idea of forcing opponent's hand just a little bit by forcing them to spend the mana now.
Tweak on upkeep costs. 1U is fair price for 1/3, and not too aggressive, so this feels fair as upkeep and casting cost the same, and as you can always choose to not replay it for a turn, not as frustrating as when you have to let something die.
Lots of words, but simple idea of several common blue enchantments, removal, untapping, and creature/land type changing rolled into one for medium price.
Tweak on protective-bubble-like spells. Allows some (but not all) pump, and blocks most (but not all) removal.
Need to make sure there is some removal that works, or this could be much too annoying.
Further tweaks on shroud/protection. Very close to shroud, except can't be damaged by spells/abilities either. (Wrath of God still works.)
Not sure if tweak is worth it at common, but prefer to experiment than be cautious.
Combine islandhome and flying!
Further twists on islandwalk/islandhome. I considered giving it a variant of both, but since hawkman has attack-restriction, I gave this the evasion ability, even though that's rarely used now.
But I decided serpents should only be unblockable based on what your opponent plays, so I departed with tradition and gave it situational flying instead.
Blue version of deathtouch. Possibly more sense in white, but seemed to fit here. I wanted a twist on "return to hand", but decided it needed to be exile instead so it's not annoying vs 1/1s and 2/2s. (Could alternatively be priced cheaper, but say "return to hand" so good v big things and bad v little things.)
Don't want many death triggers at common, but one is ok.
