Parrying: This creature may block an additional creature. Assign combat damage equal to this creature's power to both blocked creatures. Used on 4 cards: Palefence Coloniser, Malandian Duellist, Quick Reflexes, Imperial Guard

Defensively-minded combat mechanic. The full rules for Parrying mean that multiple instances stack; the blocker deals full damage to a different blocked creature per instance, then divides combat damage among any remaining creatures.

Chargecast: Each charge counter you remove from among permanents you control while casting this spell reduces its cost by {1} or by one mana of any of that permanent’s colours. Used on 5 cards: Conduct Research, Mount Expedition, Distracting Glamer, Inspire Courage, Violent Implosion

Works like Convoke, and gives something else to do (and some tension) with the charge counters in the set.

Augury: PARAM2, Discard this card: Look at the top PARAM1 cards of your library, then put any number of them on the bottom of your library and the rest on top in any order. Used on 8 cards: Imperial Decree, Rhox Conscript, Archipelago Serpent, Momentary Distraction, Marshdrinker Xenarth, Gorge on Scintillae, Olmerand Sentry, Melt for Scrap

Smoothing mechanic, an obvious cross between Cycling and Scry.

Accumulate: When this enters the battlefield and at the beginning of your upkeep, put a charge counter on it. Used on 13 cards: Collegium Loreseeker, Cisaean Earthcaller, Cisaean Windcaller, Amnesial Field, Discharge Shaman, Tidewashed Cay, Tilled Field, Teeming Wetland, Coppiced Woodland, Splintered Uplands, Cisaean Wardrite, Yarau Nightcaster, Motephage Rootwalla

Powerful abilities you can only use every few turns; flavoured as building up magic for later use.

In card text or details pages, write the mechanic's code name (playtest name) between square brackets, like "[Crittercast]", "[Bushido 1]" or "[Delay 4 {2}{R}{R}]". It will be expanded to the mechanic's name plus reminder text, such as "Suspend 4 – {2}{r}{r}. (Rather than cast this spell from your hand,...)"
To expand a mechanic's name but not its reminder text, include parentheses at the end of the square brackets: "[Crittercast()]", "[Delay 9 {R}()]".
