I agree that this card seems fair. Cards with Cascade are theoretically fair if they have an effect that would usually cost between 0-1 mana with the rest of the cost going into cascade. Since most decks wouldn't play this card if it cost 0 and lacked cascade it should be fine.
I don't know. I get the impression that the problem with cascade wasn't cascade, but was with Hypergenesis and its ilk. If Wizards didn't make 5 super-powered effects with no casting cost, then Violent Outburst wouldn't have been so damn bonkers. Runic Blade doesn't seem all that crazy to me, assuming it can only cast something great, and not something broken.
This is crazy powerful just for the colorless 3-drop cascade, isn't it?
Er. Is this meant to be 0/4? As in, it can't deal any damage to opponents without help, so can't cast any instants without help? Commons should generally be able to do what they say. This looks more like an uncommon (for several reasons really).
Reminds me of Cemetery Gate. That wasn't a very good card, by the way. This is incredibly expensive for a Yoked Ox.
changed his abilities around and gave him a somewhat more sinister feel, befitting of the leader of the hollow.
Maybe "If a creature would die, instead you may exile it. etc." The abilities only seem rare to me.
You'll never be able to carry out the "if you do" instruction unless this card itself died at the same time, since the first ability makes the exile an impossible action.
Love the flavour!
Cool! Scary. But it's less absurd than Cathars' Crusade, and in fact it's just Ivy Lane Denizen without the "green" restriction. So, yep, looks good :)
