You know, Mercenaries just happened to pop up in an article I wrote, kind of by accident. It turns out Magic has a lot of Non-Masques Mercenaries in it now. Anaba Bodyguard would just be joining the ranks held by Dauthi Mercenary, Doomed Necromancer, Mercenary Knight, Rogue Skycaptain, Sokenzan Renegade, Soldier of Fortune, Goblin Turncoat, Mercenaries and Sell-Sword Brute.
if you used the other artwork, you could consider calling it something like lightning infusion

Yeah, I was thinking about this. For a little while, I was trying to convince myself that there was something 'action-y' about the word 'tower', since it can be used as a verb. But, no, not really. This is clearly a picture of a tower just sitting there. Nothing action-y about it.
So what the heck do I name this?
"Tower Over"?
"Aliban's Power"?
"Strength of Stones"?
I'm not sure. Whatever I call it, I assume I'll have a hell of a time making the name relate to the artwork...
i feel like if you re-named an-havva inn, then you should rename this as well.
i get the flavor bonus of making it a mercenary, but i'm not a fan. mercenaries were a black tribe, had no support after masques block, and homelands doesn't have any other mercenaries in it.
still worse than rageblood shaman, which was nothing special. not sure which rung of the ladder you want this sitting on but there's still some room to push here.
not necessarily what i want from a mythic, but given the context this is easily one of the better candidates. good work
Nice! One of the best takes on an update of the Castle Sengir cycle I've ever seen. Manages to fit all the constraints of not being better than Forest, not worse than Shimmering Grotto, and so on.

I don't disagree. But that's some pretty far down the road stuff. I'd like to see more work done with the early sets, too (I always thought a block based around Rabiah could be cool, for example. One thousand and one different mirror planes can create a bunch of fun stories...) But, for right now, I just want to make Homelands work.
this is a cool idea, but i hope that the eventual scope for this project ends up becoming larger than it is at the moment. understand why this is the case, but i think homelands could do with a little more work than re-costing and some colour shifts.
Flavor text reformatted, and now featuring expansion symbols. It's a little difficult to tell what's going on in the expansion symbol, except in common, and a little zoomed in. It's the Homelands Expansion Symbol with the letter 'R' in the center, as you can see on Abbey Matron, for example.
