Overview: Kalcebo is a plane consisting of a large, bustling city protected by the sturdy walls circling it, and the dreaded, corrupted wasteland surrounding this very area. On the inside of these walls lies a morally and politically crumbling civilization, tormented by the influence of the scheming demons that siege the city’s ward-plastered walls.

On the outside of these walls lies a barren mass of land that is home to the contemptuous demons and the mischievous devils. The majority of this outside world is littered with active volcanoes and charred by the resulting lava that spews from these searing mountains, while the remaining fraction is merely an entrance to a demonic underworld simply known as the ‘Abyss’.

The City: Within these walls lie three major sections of the city accompanied by the more miniscule villages and towns that dwell inside these segments. Common townsfolk, priests, merchants, and doctors populate this city much in the manner of an average town, as well as the more unconventional citizens such as wizards, druids, and shamans. Major sections include: The white-aligned section of the city, Tristpar is notable for being the largest area of the three, and is home to the central headquarters of the Alphas, the city’s prominent army. These soldiers work under a strict regime, and are often tasked with errands depending on their rank amongst their battalion. Lower level Alphas are given less violent duties such as policing civilians and collecting taxes from the townsfolk, while soldiers of a higher rank spend the majority of their time training. These soldiers are a grand influence to the people of Tristpar and its surrounding nations, and serve as an embodiment of the government’s power.

Tristpar – including its civilians and its army, is ruled by a religious leader named Alchius. Elected nearly 20 years ago, “The Vicar”, as the common townsfolk would refer to Alchius as, had emanated faith and hope to the civilians whilst under the careful protection of the angels that thrive in the heavens above, only arriving when sorely needed. That is what would happen during the war of the heavens, which took place 15 years ago. One of Tristpar’s greatest landmarks is the Great Tower, home to the Vicar, and found directly in the middle of Tristpar, marking the location of the always bustling marketplace. Many merchants and vendors make their living here, under the watchful gaze of the Vicar who observes the frenzy from the zenith of the tower.

Tristpar is also home to the clerics that make their living in the seemingly ubiquitous churches scattered around the entire city and its smaller villages. Most clerics are often employed by the Vicar himself to spread faith to the people and to heal wounds, while the more elite clerics are members of the “Clergy”, and are housed in the great tower itself. These rightful masters of the clerical magic often use potent and powerful spells for expendable use, and confer treatment for maladies and/or wounds amongst the higher ranked Alphas.

Tristpar is one of the more prominent sections of the city due to its unprecedented political power, religious beliefs, and for its army being the main defence against the outside world. Being the area located closest to the entrance of the city, Tristpar and its civilians must stay vigilant for these dark times that have yet to transpire. If Tristpar would fall, the political security and power placed amongst all other regions would certainly fall as well. But this does not mean that the other sections are defenceless without the Alphas.

Nevaloth: Nevaloth is the green-aligned area of the city. It is home to the many druids and farmers that prosper here, as such, it is the primary resource of food being distributed across the city. Nevaloth is known for the vast array of villages strewn across the land, but the most outstanding aspect of this area is the substantial forest that dwells within Nevaloth.

Nevaloth is known for retaining a giant, prosperous forest within the city walls known simply as Verderein. The forest itself is divided into two sections: The first area is found at the forest’s outskirts, where the many druids that populate Nevaloth make their homes and thrive alongside the many beasts that live in harmony with these villagers. Delving deeper into the forest reveals the gloomy and unsettling darkness of the deep-forest. With sunlight mildly succeeding in protruding the dense foliage and tall trees that loom above the forest floor, many odd specimens are found within this area, including the Ferocihemoth, a revered and feared creature that is worshipped by some denizens of Nevaloth. Not much is known about the Ferocihemoth, except that it will appear in desperate times, and convey help to everyone who is in dire need.

The druids of Nevaloth are in concord with the beasts of Verderein, and share a rigid bond whereas the other civilians of Nevaloth, such as the farmers and common townsfolk, are frightened by these hulking behemoths, and tend to avoid and shun the druids for this reason. The Alphas of Tristpar have left their impression on Nevaloth, forming a small fleet of Nevalothian soldiers that help protect the druids and villagers should any beast go rogue. These soldiers are also accompanied by tamed and trained beasts for transportation and for battle.

Nevaloth, dangerously similar to their neighbouring areas, are not without its issues. The corrupted wasteland from outside the forest are leaving a dastardly impression on the deep-forest, its pollution derived from the swamps located away from the city walls are seeping into the soil below, harming and mutilating the shrubbery, grass and beasts held inside. These tainted fields will soon spread into the farms and villages nearby, stunting the production of food for the entire nation while the corrupted beasts will be turned into homicidal monsters. As Tristpar defends itself of the diabolical enemies before them, Nevaloth will face a much greater challenge hidden within its soil.

Gyzol: One of the more covert and esoteric areas is the town of Gyzol, the blue-aligned area. Acting as a training ground for aspiring and master wizards alike, the streets are mostly empty and abandoned due to the spirits that tread the place at night and the sages that spend their time experimenting with ways to become ethereal and invisible in order to interact with the spirits and phantasms that wander outside. Gyzol is also home to the feared and renowned arch-necromancer, Myga.

Gyzol’s inhabitants are mostly secretive and stern, ostracized from Tristpar ever since the study of ‘etherealism’ has been outlawed by the Alphas due to its usage as a means of theft and intimidation. These wizards have since been relocated to the isolated and ghostly town of Gyzol as punishment for their misdemeanours, and are denied freedom through a flurry of guards assigned by the Alpha to prevent these wizards from escaping. Because of this, most wizards continue to study invisibility away from the guards’ watchful eye in a covert mannerism, using their attained transparency from their incantations in order to thieve scrolls, tomes, and other information essential to a particular wizard’s goals. A select few number of wizards have taken the study of illusions in their own hands, creating creatures utterly frightening to most beings for varied reasons.

The threat of the demonic entities have only persuaded some inhabitants of Gyzol to study upon them more often, as the spirits that roam the dim streets of Gyzol during night time share intricate ties to the demonic spirits – or ‘Oni’. With these factors in mind coupled with the powers of invisibility, the wizards realize that they were unwittingly preparing for the diabolical onslaught throughout all these years, and that the one ability that they have researched throughout their solemn times in Gyzol may be put to practical, non-malicious use for the first time. But firstly, they must convince the city of their breakthrough.
