there was an older version that basically had Stone Calendar Text
The above mentioned Stone Calendar costs . This just works without even being on the battlefield.
The Ur-Dragon was restricted to Dragon spells and this does everything. There needs to be a drawback.
Eminence with tribal restrictions alone is a very polarizing mechanic. Unrestricted benefits like this are a magnitude more problematic. Even though the rest of the effect is kinda uninteresting.
Made First Strike an activated ability costing .
much cleaner suggestion, done :-)
First strike in isn't a thing in modern color pie.
Glissa Sunseeker is the only exception (perhaps Mirri, Cat Warrior as well) which is more reasonable given that it's a crucial legendary character - one which would be mythic these days - and mythics can bend the color pie more easily.
I get the desire to put first strike on an archer, but it's one of those things where you have to "play around" the color pie. You could easily turn it into an activated ability for example: ": ~ gains first strike UEOT."
Made it a 2/3.
could try "cannot be blocked by creatures with reach" instead
it probably could be common.
That name pretty much spits the card on the face. I like it xD
Just making this a 1/3 or 2/3 or 2/4 (bigger butt) would make it feel slightly more .
Mmm, yeah - where's the blue in this? It's got a mechanic, so sure, that's the black. Why blue? The name, and the creature type are fine in pure too.
Since this is at best a 3/3 virtual vanilla it doesn't really need to cost three mana.
This card emphasises how weird bloodthirst feels in blue, but with a small number it seems kinda okay.
It's good flavour though.
All creatures can by default block creatures with islandwalk. You want to express that this creature can ignore the blocking restriction islandwalk creates and for that the 'as though' wording is recommended.
Compare: Ætherflame Wall.
Also I always recommend simply not using islandwalk - especially not so often as to make this ability worthwhile. Maybe a good old Trap Runner instead?
It's a weird combination to use Seahawk as both the animal and the faction name. It requires some finesse to not set up flase expectations with cardnames.
Also 'altitude' is a drawback I don't see being used often enough to be keyworded. Pure "~ can't block" as 'cowardice' is something I'd see happening before.
Is this supposed to be common? It fits right into the cycle of underwhelming allied-colors french vanillas set up by Murderous Scum and Gnark Topman.
Going multicolor usually results in some upgrade over the simple Sun Sentinel version, compare Cerodon Yearling or Steward of Valeron. At uncommon it might also want something more enticing to make it a specific fit to a certain deck.
