Creature – Human Cleric
When Prying Priest enters the battlefield, each opponent reveals their hand, then you choose a noncreature, nonland card name.

Choose two —
• Counter target spell.
• Counter target triggered ability.
• Counter target activated ability.
• Draw a card.

For every question, an answer.

On Primal Protection:

Umm, Idk, I would rather like this to be {w/u} along the lines of Rebuff the Wicked and Hindering Light. {w} counterspells ftw.

On Rematerialize:

Oh hey, I've made this exact design myself years back without the life loss rider. A big fan of the design.

On Druid of the Meek:

Lel, that's the type of rules text that easily makes one go ".. but Spiders aren't Insects" unless/until you realize what's happening here is part of the MTG rules lango formating.

On Prying Priest:

Meddling Mage limited to noncreatures with a Peek attached to it seem to me actually even more {u} than meddling mage itself.

I wager you're spinning it as sort of a pseudo discard temporary exile effect in the vein if Kitesail Freebooter? Eh.

On Convincing Rebuttal:

Why is it {w}? This is a mix somewhere between Sublime Epiphany and Cryptic Command design-wise.

On Grove Reborn:

This seems super meh. Am I missing something here? Wouldn't Darksteel Ingot just generally be a stronger include in one's deck? Is this specifically for the limited environment here?

I've played around with some designs that add mana at the start of each main phase - maybe that's something to look into?

On Song of the Grove:

That's combo fuel nearing the level of something like Bolas's Citadel - so I would speculate that this possibly would have more impact on formats legacy+ rather than say modern.

On Realm's Razing:

Would modern-legal reprint of Ruination or From the Ashes be equally viable "solution"?

On Coastal Pilgrim:

I've seen a lot of llanowar dorks giving blue mana - personally my favorite custom card variant of it is a 0/2 Turtle I saw many, many years back.

On Intimidation Tactics:

This would be the first red card ever to give power debuff. It's a really weird effect for red to have, being the color aggression so suggesting opponent not to attack - where usually {r} does the opposite of forcing attacking - is contrary. Even with the countless cowardly cards {r} has had over the years, including the Coward/Warrior idea, they have always focused on making creatures less able to block, which technically still encourages attacking by exclusion. Power debuffs rather are seen in {u} enchantments, such as Dampening Pulse, which makes sense as indeed one of the antagonistic colors of {r} - one reason being the tendency towards aggression.

I do get the flavor obviously, but where this has been utilized before, without the Warrior/Coward callbacks, is in {b} with cards like Public Execution and perhaps more relevantly Suicidal Charge which is also {r}.

Idk, I guess one can just put it under the Form of the Dragon category who knows. It seems quite possible you would be able to pair the coward/warrior callback with some effect which is in-pie for {r}.
