Preface

This is a set inspired by Hindu & Buddhist Mythology. This is my first attempt at custom card building, so any feedback on overpowered/underpowered cards or formatting issues would be greatly appreciated!

Mechanics/Themes --

1) {u}{r} Dream: Inspired by one of the founding principles of Hinduism, Chakra, this mechanic gives you the option to not untap your creatures with the benefit of casting spells at a lower cost. Cards cast for their "Dream Cost" can be cast any time a creature would untap, regardless of whether the card is an instant, sorcery, or creature.

2) {w}{b}{g} Transmigrate: Inspired by the Hindu concept of reincarnation, Transmigrate allows you to recur your creatures with a different "body." When a card with Transmigrate dies, you may exile another creature card from your graveyard and pay the card's Transmigrate cost. If you do, the first creature is reanimated, but its power/toughness become the power/toughness of the creature exiled.

3) {w}{u}{g} Serenity: Inspired by the Buddhist concept of Nirvana, Serenity gives cards stronger effects if you have more life than an opponent.

4) {b}{r} Curses: A new take on Curse cards (introduced in Innistrad Block) that gives them more tribal synergy. Many curses in this set get stronger the more Curses are in play, encouraging a build-around theme.

5) {r}{g}({w}{u}{b}) Minor Gods: Whereas all previous Gods in MTG sets have been Mythic Rares, I decided to put Gods in this set at all rarities. This reflects the polytheistic aspect of Hinduism. I took a lot of inspiration from War of the Spark when making this mechanic, as that set was the first set to premier Planeswalkers at lower rarities.

Other Things to Note --

1) Names in this set are just placeholders; I will change them later. Speaking of which, suggestions for names are definitely welcome!

2) There only creature type tribal theme in the set is Gods, so all other creature types for creatures in this set could change.

3) This set is just for drafting; I'm not trying to balance cards in constructed formats right now.

Where am I in the process?
