Visheen, Plane of the Many: Comments

I'm still trying to figure out how to implement the untap symbol (see Umbral Mantle) on this website. If there is no way to get the symbol itself, what would be the best way to communicate a permanent untapping itself as a cost to activate an ability?

I might implement a "cursed" supertype to synergize with the B/R Curse archetype. Supertype would go on creatures and/or artifacts. Cursed cards would have very strong effects with severe downsides when used.

Thoughts?

The symbol can be made with curly brackets surrounding a 'Q'!

I'm a huge fan of implementing superfluous supertypes, but IIRC it's generally a bad move, especially if it doesn't have any inherent ability (such as legendary and basic have)...

Also, there might be confusion with new players between Aura Curses (colloquially called: Curses) and cards with the new supertype... If you don't care about designing for new players, I'd still say that I'm not a huge fan of the similarity...

As an alternative, you could make a keyword called Cursed (it would probably need some reminder text) and put it on cursed permanents.

Something like, "At the beginning of your upkeep, you lose 2 life" feels right, but it depends on if that fits your theme.

Mainly, it's good to avoid relying on huge things like a new supertype in order to support a theme.

Thanks! I have no idea why that's not in the formatting help part of making cards. I mean, they include energy ffs, but not untapping? Wierd.

As for the Curse supertype, I probably won't include it, but it was just a fun idea that I had. Inventing for the sake of inventing.

Still trying to figure out how to create 2 types of cards:

1) Sagas

2) Transform Cards

There is no saga frame on the site, yet.

I'd suggest doing the formatting like what I did with Rise from the Marsh or The Eternal Storm.

Of course, it's all subjective, and do whatever you think looks most realistic, or the best.

When you make a new card, above the card itself, there is a dropdown called Frame. Select 'double-faced' from the list and you're good to go!
