Feral 1: When you cast ~ from your hand, you may discard an instant or sorcery spell, if you do ~ comes into play with one +1/+1 counter on it Used on 7 cards: Den Sentry, Raging Sabre-Claw, Banished Pride-Mate, Predatory Thrush, Horned Centipede, Thornbark Stalker, Lifescale Rex
Feral 3: When you cast ~ from your hand, you may discard an instant or sorcery spell, if you do ~ comes into play with three +1/+1 counters on it. Used on 2 cards: Mire Centipede, Tyrant Raptor
Explorer: Used on 14 cards: Explorer's Perch, Dark Rising, Protective Ferocity, Twisting Branches, Swallowing Mire, Hidden Trails, Needle Grass, Crushing Avalanche, Devour Whole, Environmental Pressure, Unstable Terrain, Mana Infusion, Focused Flare, Explorer's Notes

This mechanic represents knowing the local terrain. As animals familiar with the area they live in will know the correct paths to take through dangerous areas or spots that create natural traps.

Feral 2: When you cast ~ from your hand, you may discard an instant or sorcery spell, if you do ~ comes into play with two +1/+1 counters on it. Used on 9 cards: Blood-Eyed Falcon, Charging Thorn-Claw, Rabid Loner, Scythe-Claw Rex, Stalker of Prey, Savage Pride-Mate, Fury Rex, Sand Scavenger, Brawn over Brains

This represents creatures that are more brawn then brain, throwing away planning and thought to focus on aggression and fighting. Note that if a creature has multiple instances of Feral, each one triggers separately, so a creature with Feral 2 three times could come into play with 6 +1/+1 counters if three instants and/or sorceries were discarded.

In card text or details pages, write the mechanic's code name (playtest name) between square brackets, like "[Crittercast]", "[Bushido 1]" or "[Delay 4 {2}{R}{R}]". It will be expanded to the mechanic's name plus reminder text, such as "Suspend 4 – {2}{r}{r}. (Rather than cast this spell from your hand,...)"
To expand a mechanic's name but not its reminder text, include parentheses at the end of the square brackets: "[Crittercast()]", "[Delay 9 {R}()]".
