Either this or Penumbra Lion needs to change. At the moment they are identical in every way except name & starting colour. I figure that the shadow doesn't have to be the same/an exact mirror of the original.
The two were created as an experiment in limiting the number of token types. Neither is officially part of the set as yet as they haven't been given codes.
I want at least 1 Penumbra creature in each colour, most will be simple vanillas except for the penumbra 'ability' but this just cried out to me to exist so maybe a Common and an Uncommon in each colour - }:-)
I have to be careful though or I'll end up with 20 types of creature tokens which wouldn't be good.
I originally wanted to use the M10 owl to avoid using Scry/Fateseal but it ended up crazily wordy. This version is much cleaner and the synergy between itys two forms is awesome. I wasn't planning on using Scry or Fateseal in the set but they both fit the flavour of the set really well so I may just have to change my mind.
False Demise. It's probably fine at . Plus, as written, it already does that, since you control the enchantment. If you wanted your opponent to gain control of the Penumbra it would probably need something like "Enchanted creature gains "[Add Quoted text here]".
Made the bump to Uncommon Thinking of adding "under your control" between 'battlefield' and 'that' so it can be used as 'sneaky' control by enchanting an opponent's creature but that may require bumping the cost to .

Changed cost to
(though maybe

would be better) because jmgariepy is right, this is way better than Augury Owl even if bumped to uncommon.
This is really snazzy. Officially 3x better than the scrying owl, but snazzy just the same.

Thanks, I reworded the text to bring it in line with False Demise's Oracle wording.

it is then.
I would guess 1G is right, but I'm not good at costing. I do like the idea.
This looks more like an uncommon effect, I'd agree. It's a very nice simple design though.
I like this a lot. I think the cost probably could be
as you suspect.
Compared to some other 7 drops Avenger of Zendikar, Blood Tyrant, Furyborn Hellkite, Myr Battlesphere, etc this sin't all that nasty and it still dies to Baneslayer Angel
Changed the looting to a must ability
