Midrange archetype centered around bartering things for value, and then bouncing them back to hand. Utilizes a lot of creatures with ETB effects. > Important Commons: Chase Away, Loan Collector, Saguara Trail Pioneers

­{u}{b} - "Sure Gamble" Standoff Control

Control archetype centered around standoffing with opponents who you know do not have very many high cost cards, in order to get the maximum value out of Standoff cards. Lots of recursive effects. If you aren't very trusting, needs a couple of Peek effects. > Important Commons: Steel City Outlaw, Beanbag Spray, Out of Bullets

­{b}{r} - Dash Aggro

Aggressive archetype that uses Dash creatures to sneak in a lot of damage and make it hard for opponents to deal with problem creatures. Many Dash creatures have a higher converted mana cost than their dash cost, making them effective discard targets for the large amount of standoff cards in Black and Red. > Important Commons: Kolgek Pass Roughrider, Train Stowaway,

­{r}{g} - Midrange/Ramp

Midrange archetype that utilizes some early ramp spells to power out large creatures. > Important Commons: Postpile Dweller,

­{g}{w} - Barter Tokens

Grindy archetype that creates a lot of tokens to barter away for better bonuses - most of them being more tokens. Leans towards a group-hug style of play, encouraging constantly bartering with one player to ally with. > Important Commons: Raise the Alarm, (((Imquitu Ambassador))),

­{w}{b} - Hostage Control

Control archetype that utilizes a large amount of defensive Hostage cards to control the field, as well as provide backup against opponent's removal when the finisher creatures begin entering the battlefield. > Important Commons: Stepford Matron, Cargo Bison, Frontier Justice

­{b}{g} - Hostage Sacrifice

Aggressive archetype that encourages getting a couple of low-cost Hostages onto the battlefield in Black in order to protect creatures that benefit from additional power and toughness. > Important Commons: Carrion Vulture, Looting Party

­{g}{u} - Card Draw

Tempo/Midrange archetype that utilizes many creatures that benefit off of card draw to beat face. Somewhat tempo, somewhat midrange. > Important Commons: Quick Thinking,

­{u}{r} - Stealing

Tempo archetype that uses many of red and blue's evasive threats, coupled with some theft effects, to maintain pressure on an opponent. Couple it with some sacrifice outlets in Red for maximum effectiveness. > Important Commons: Chronic Swindler, Borrow, Dynamite Blast

­{r}{w} - Kingmaker/Kingbreaker

Control archetype that supports another player for mutual benefit early on through bartering and through cards that benefit off of another player having a larger life total. Then, beats face when there are only two players left in the game. > Important Commons: Kindly Doctor, Atlake Prospector, Destructive Impetus
