See Lunar Force, where it is suggested not to consider "a"/"an" in the word count.

Really would like to add "you may"...

I find an attack trigger questionable - it breaks the natural flow of the combat phase... ETB would be preferably IMO.

ETB has two more words, with five words for the trigger condition, you don't get the whole rummage text - not even the shorter loot text.

If scrying is fine at common under NNWO, I can see changing this to "Whenever ~ attacks/ETBs, scry 1." though.

ETB should perhaps be counted as a single "word" for purposes of word counting. Maybe? Dunno. Or perhaps "When you cast ~"?

Scry is certainly an option though I don't find it lucrative.

I hate the clunkiness of "enters the battlefield". I always wanted them to move to a single term, like how they just scrapped "is put into the graveyard from play" in favor of "dies". So there's precedence for giving the movement of an entity from one game zone to another a single-word term.

I favor "appears" because it ties into the classic flavor of a "summon creature" spell. You cast a spell to summon a creature. Then when the spell resolves, the creature appears!

That's outside the scope of this set's discussion, I realize, but that's what I'd go with were I in charge of Oracle wording.

From library to hand = draw From hand to stack = cast From stack to battlefield = appear From battlefield to graveyard = die From hand to graveyard = discard

etc. etc.

There is a point at which too much terminology becomes a barrier rather than a helper.

But I agree "appears" or "arrives" is probably a net improvement. Though "Enters play" was better than either.
