Interesting variation on Vampire Bats as First Strike isn't quite as powerful as Flying you could possibly get away with this being either a 1/1 or a 0/2.

True, but then it wouldn't be an obvious variation on the bats. :P ­

Still, I don't think this is that far from power level... it just exists in a different deck. While this won't be as powerful as the bats on offense, on defense, 2/1 First Strikers are very strong, so the card is probably best suited for a player who was planning on casting larger late game spells. I like it, and I'd play with it despite the power level, and that's a good indication that it shouldn't be made any more powerful. After all, I'm not trying to impress people, I'm trying to make a draftable expansion.

I was just saying that you COULD boost it and it'd probably be OK, not that you SHOULD boost it. I like the call out to the Bats (and by default the newer Phyrexian Battleflies)
