I've this strange sensation that this is less insane at common than it seems. Obviously too wordy, but I got couple of slots to spare that can be allowed to get redflagged here.

It certainly doesn't look like a common... but I guess it might be less insane than it seems, yes.

Kinda hard to tell. It's no Elvish Piper on the cost for summoning something; but scry7 is rather nice. I wonder if it wouldn't be more used to get around strange alt-costs though.

The cards are put on the bottom of library so it's hardly "scry 7". I feel it's maybe something like Commune with Nature but digs two cards deeper, can grab any permanent that costs 5 (or less) and you have to play that permanent immediately. It also "autofixes" your mana so you don't have to worry about that, but that's something {g} can do. I don't think there are any wacky alt-cost cards in this set, so that wouldn't be a problem. I actually think it would be a plus if a card that's just a pretty bland common in limited could have some (even powerful) uses outside its own environment. I think it is/was one of the "tenets" of those "hypothetical ideal set" concepts in which no "bulk/bad" cards are made (ie. everything is made for constructed). Obviously this set has already somewhat failed to reach that in there's stuff like (((Sin-Begotten Horde))) in the set, that while cool (has nice flavor and name), is just an unplayable card outside of limited.
