Hmmm. Not sure the retrace is normally very useful here; although I guess being black you may have plans to get it into the graveyard early. But then you still need 7 mana and the land.
On the contrary. This is a great top end for a limited deck: attacks as a 5/3 then a 6/4, and if it dies you can "regenerate" it, but expensively enough that it's probably still OK for common.
It'd get red-flagged for repeatable effects, and want playtesting to make sure it's occasionally useful (worth having the retrace cost at all) but not oppressively frustrating; but I think it looks pretty viable right now.
