I don't like this design. We want to encourage people to have a high Discovery count, not discourage it.

Would rather something like this for this slot:

{2}{g}

Enchantment (Rare}

You may play an additional land on each of your turns if that land doesn’t have the same name as another land you control.

Whenever a land enters the battlefield under your control, you gain 1 life.

Yeah I do think that sounds a bit better. Tbh I'd want this in a color other than green if we made it. Could we shift this to white for now and the land gets added to your hand instead? Then replace it with your suggestion.

I'd prefer a "You may play an additional land on each of your turns if that land doesn’t have the same name as another land you control." enchantment or creature without the life gain for 2 CMC, as it's simpler and more to the point.

@Brainpolice We have one already, see Wordly Oracle.

I do like the life gain for an enchantment with that effect as giving you something from the card when you've already hit your Discovery max so it's not a dead card. A creature with it has the use as a creature to fulfill that role.

I do agree that this idea might play out weirdly, as it's sort of ideal if you're actually playing mono-green without Discovery against opponents with Discovery. It's was meant to be a sort of Land Tax for Discover.

Can we shift this into white? There's better card competing for its slot in green imo and if we make it add the card to your hand, just like Land Tax, then it feels more like a white card.

I'd rather just axe it.

I'm cool with Axing this and having the new 1 CMC Paradise Bloom take the place of its general function.

Alright, I'm going to remove it if we're all agreed that we dont really want it.
