Dealt to the permanent that transformed, or to the creature this targets?

I don't think green gets this style of damage prevention, really.

Well, I'm trying to include diverse benefits of having creatures transform.

Link's right, this is a color bleed, maybe regenerate instead?

Regenerate is a wonderful in-pie replacement.

Sure. Preventing damage would make more sense with Glorious Hunt, turning it into a one-sided fight.

Moving the same effect to another green card doesn't make it in-color.

No, but in the context, it does somewhat. One sided fights are now a thing for green. Conditionally preventing the damage would be very similar to just doing a one sided fight.

Well then, just do a one-sided fight... but it would need some balancing then.
