Can we make this +1/+1? Toughness boosts are odd with first/double strike. Also, the wording doesn't work, "defending creatures" aren't defined by the rules, a defending player is. I'll try and fix that bit.

EDIT: Wording fixed with basically no functional change.

Well, i figured that giving double strike to your creatures would be the equivalent of giving them at least +1/+0, and the two effects would balance a little. I suppose there are situations in which it would matter though.

Balance Notes: This is almost always much more efficient than Phalanx Formation for 5, but it can only be used at that cost (rather than the flexibility of Formation) and only for blockers, so it seems fine, if a little weak.
