This is an old design I had for Adolin, back when he was at rare. It feels a little underwhelming for a mythic, but I want to see if we can preserve the flavor of him dueling for shards.
I like the idea, we can think about how to make it feel mythic. It's certainly very unique, and very powerful.
The equipment could be automatically equipped to Adolin, to enhance the idea that he is now wielding them. It would also slightly increase his power level.
That might work. Samuel, thoughts?
Sure, that sounds fun. Maybe we could make that ability three mana to balance it (), but then replace first strike with "At the beginning of combat on your turn, ~ gains your choice of vigilance, first strike, or haste until end of turn" to represent his use of different Stances and boost his power level a bit.
Okay. Should it be at the beginning of the controllers turn, or each turn?
Beginning of each combat, so he can use haste on the turn he enters. Come to think of it, with haste-gaining present, can we make him a 5-mana 4/4?
Sure. Sounds good.
Should I just change it to "Adolin fights target creature?"
That's a lot simpler, and will help with balance. Sure. EDIT: Done, and equipment ability reworded to gaining control and attaching (otherwise, the opponent still controls them and can reattach them to their own creature by paying the mana.)
Changed the class so he fits better with the Soldier tribal. I also swapped out haste and prowess, as it doesn't make sense to gain hast at the beginning of the upkeep, when it won't be needed anymore.
Oh wait. Nevermind.
