Unending is pretty flavorful. Unclear whether it might be frustrating for the owner or opponent or both, but it's certainly cool!

I assume you're pretty familiar with buyback? It might be fun to re-word unending so that it can also work with non-permanents, then again most buyback spells were either completely oppressive/busted, or useless. But unending makes the loop breakable so...

Rewording it to work with non-permanents would require it to return to the hand rather than the battlefield, most likely.
