Interesting. Is this part of a cycle or just a cool one-of?

Originally a cycle, but I dunno what happened to the rest of the cycle even in the original version of the set. I think it was preserved back then...

This card is very cute.

I love it, but I do not like the overlap between this and (((Excoriate*))). They should cover slightly different targets, and between the two I think Excoriate should change before this one.

How is there overlap??

They both target a tapped creature. White usually has a variety of different kill spells at common with different conditions, like for example Celestial flare, Divine verdict, Pacifism, Sheer drop, Smite the monstrous. All I am asking, is that when Sheriff's warning becomes active, Excoriate should still be able to pick up a few targets that the Sheriff could not, and not be completely overshadowed by its counterpart. Switch Excoriate with Divine verdict so it can pick up some blocking creatures for example, that is enough differences for me.

AFAIK it was never a cycle, even in the original Archester. I love the card even more now.
