The current wording violates the "Red can't get Card advantage"-rule b/c, if it's your last card, you can exploit, discard nothing, then draw two.
That's easy to solve, btw, with "discard a card. If you do..."
Changed to conditional to prevent card advantage.
When did red start getting value bears at common?
Changed PT from 2/2 to 2/1 to make it not a bear.
I am interested in having this be a large bulky late game common that cycles late land into fuel.
Minion Exploiter
Creature - Ogre
5/4
Exploit
When ~ exploits a creature, discard a card. If you do, draw two cards.
If we make the change and fill the top end of red, I am proposing this as the CR09 slot in the skeleton
This is a really bad and awkward effect = sacrifice a creature, discard a card: Draw a card. Yuk. Why not a simple black exploit cantrip?
Well, right now it's draw two, which is definitely something I can get behind: essentially a Tormenting Voice that can be a creature if needed.
I'm not sure about it. It fills a really similar space to Vulturous Aven.
Er... Vulturous Aven? Really? I don't see the similarity.
I like the 5/4 for option, though it'll feel really bad when you need to exploit itself to get a 6-mana Tormenting Voice.
Oh I totally misread the draw two. So the power level isn't as bad
as I thought, but it's still feels quite bad for common.
i guess spike needs his cards too though.
What I meant to say was, exploit is already a Spiky feel-bad mechanic. And this card in particular is exceptionally so because it has two feel-bad mechanics on a lame body. grimGrendel is probably right here - make it a 5/4.
I admit Tormenting Voice is not really useful at 6 mana. The ability should be changed to make it an interesting split card, to allow the play of sacrificing the 5/4 for its effect. How about Blood feud?
"When ~ exploits a creature, target creature fights another target creature"
It might not be common anymore though.
