Would something similar to Laboratory Maniac be interesting in this spot? Something that splits gap between the red in and black in .
Deranged Assistant not Laboratory Maniac.
How about making this a 1/2 Renowned Weaponsmith without the fetching ability?
I like that idea Circeus, it'd push this part of blue more towards artifacts (where it's suppose to be) rather than towards some sort of ramp archetype. You never know maybe we might want that ramp archetype depending on where the draft archetype winds up. (Pun not intended ... this time)
Mind you that might still turn out to require a move to uncommon.
I feel like Streamstress is bound to say in some way but I'm not sure how I feel about it becoming Renowned Weaponsmith style. Sure it helps and but and suddenly lost some steam (pun intended) for themself. Maybe , : Add to your mana pool? She then truly turn into a 'steam'stress as she starts to purify some mana.
Did she not start at , : Add to your mana pool ? I was almost certain there was a filter-to-colourless creature in the original set. I think this is where she wants to be, and she will be a high pick even if we go the simple filtering route.
Restricting the colorless mana to artifacts cuts off her ability to cast Steam powered instants and sorceries. Does shifting to , : for feel necessary?
@Moon-E: I say it is beneficial. She not only produces mana but filters it.
@Moon-E: It is not necessary, but adds a lot of flavour that only really make sense in Archester. I would keep is as adding if steam power becomes too easy to turn on though.
Now turns into
Looking back at the old file, the original Steamstress had , : Add Do we want her to filter only blue mana, or any kind of mana?
Feels too limiting, but I'd wait for development.
My gut says ", : " is probably fine. It allows for more interactions with mana rocks and for interesting combinations with the various archetypes.
needs a template update. ", : Add to your mana pool." :p
