If they are creatures they need power and toughness.

Unless you try to make noncreature artifacts as sacrifice fodder, but then this is overcosted. Maybe as a cantrip...

Sure, if Wizards ever actually make Assemble as a mechanic, I'd be concerned. Until then, it's not a big deal.
