Not sure of wording of ability. Not sure if all tentacles should grow back or not.
Swap with MU01?
How about phrasing the last ability, "At the beginning of your upkeep, if you control an Octopus Tentacle, put 1/1 blue Octopus Tentacle creature tokens onto the battlefield until you control eight Octopus Tentacles"? ...Actually, that's no shorter and less clear, so forget that.
Heck, it costs 8.
When ~ ETB, put 8 1/1 blue octopus tentacle creature tokens into play. During your upkeep, put a creature token into play that is a copy of ~. (And obviously, ~ needs to be non-legendary)
I am just struck by trying to picture an octopus sphinx.
:) I think I was trying out variants on iconic creature types, although now it definitely seems weird.
