This would make a somewhat strong black card.

Instant speed discard is already very powerful, but making it random makes it even better.

Hymn to Tourach is two of this on one card, has been printed at common, and has never been banned or restricted in any format.

That card is very powerful and would never see print in a standard-legal set, as far as I know. It's also not instant speed.

Yeah, comparing cards to Hymn To Tourach is on the list of things Vitenka isn't allowed to do any more.

Still, this is only a single discard, and so not quite as dangerous; as it's costing you a card and them a card. Random is pretty nasty though - this will have the effect of winning the game on turn 1 maybe 2/7ths of the time you get it, just by hitting their critical land.

Leading to horrible grindy games and not really letting you know why it was so bad. (Hymn, well, at least if you hit both their lands it was done on turn 2, so they'd got one or two down already; and maybe they'd even started a beatdown on you - and if it hits 2 lands you knew you were doomed and could just fold.)

So yeah; make this a sorcery and.. well, everything above STILL applies. But at least it avoids potential complete "You draw? Ok, discard it" lockdowns, which are just horribly un-fun.
